Commission Art Work is welcome. Laurie requests certain information before taking on a project, including a list of favorite songs and authors among other things.
* Collector must suppy list of favorite songs, books and or Bible verses.
* Collector will choose three paintings they are partial to in Pace's collection for her to have insight to what
attracts them to a painting.
* Once a subject is established, Laurie provides sketches for approval before beginning the canvas.
* A $500 non-refundable fee is required before the canvas is ordered.
* Images are sent back and forth between the studio and the client as the painting progresses.
* These images can be used in a special single edition collectors book for the buyer.
* Once the painting is complete and the buyer is satisfied through the images sent, final payment is due.
* The painting ships usually 2-3 weeks after completion and must be signed for.
"When I first begin to work with a collector for a special commissioned painting, I have a list of questions that I ask them to answer. As an artist I feel it is vital to know something about the family or the home so the painting will 'fit' when it arrives.
Art work actually weaves itself into the current lives of the household and lasts through generations. As my children grew up and visited my mother's home, they all fell in love with a huge painting over the fireplace that my cousin painted in college. They all wish they could have that painting in their homes because it brings to them the memories and joys they had at my mother's house.
The questions I ask are:
1. What gendre of music do you enjoy and listen to the most?
2. What are your favorite colors?
3. What colors are in the room where the painting will hang?
4. Do you have any favorite authors?
5. Do you have a favorite bible verse?
So the painting experience for me must tie in three things; first the Holy Spirit working through me; second, my input from my gift of art and feeings from my heart; and third, the information supplied by the collector. When I paint, I listen to the music they love. When I read or meditate I concentrate on what they have provided to put myself into the same place they find comfort or joy. " Laurie
